PAVE is a national, nonprofit that uses education and action to shatter the silence of sexual violence. Through social awareness campaigns, educational outreach, and targeted legislative efforts we work to end sexual violence on all fronts.
PAVE is both prevention and response based. We educate on cultural norms that encourage or trivialize violence while also creating grassroots action against injustices to victims and survivors.

Art and Soul to Shatter the Silence of Sexual Violence
Date: September 17
Location: Dorothy Chandler Pavilion – L.A. Performing Arts Center
Purpose: Using performance art PAVE is working with MTV Real World’s Sarah Rice and other celebs to shatter silence surrounding sexual violence.

IVATInternational Conference on Violence, Abuse and Trauma
Date: September 21-26, 2009
Location: San Diego, California
Purpose: The theme is Promoting Peace in the Home, Your Community, and the World and aims to work from a multi-disciplinary background to link practice, research, and policy across the lifespan. Organized by the Institute on Violence, Abuse and Trauma and supported by PAVE.

Fear No FashionPAVE’s Fear No Fashion

Date: September 27 – 3pm
Location: Cubby Bear – Chicago, IL
Purpose: Because fashion is about feeling Beautiful, Sexy, and Empowered PAVE is using this avenue to raise awareness on sexual violence. The event will feature local celebrities, fashion designers, silent auction, and other surprises! Come join us!

Alcohol Campaign on Consent
UW Madison PAVE Chapter

Since University of Wisconsin – Madison is a reputed party school, the campus chapter of PAVE as worked with multiple student groups, campus staff, and Adams Outdoor Advertising to create a campaign addressing alcohol-facilitated sexual assault.
PAVE Media Advocate Katie Simons stated, "We wanted to incorporate the idea that while drinking might cause impaired judgment, there’s no excuse for taking advantage of someone else."

Run For Congo Women

Join PAVE’s Team

Women For Women International has created a Run For Congo Women event to be held this fall in the following states:Colorado, Oregon, New York, Arizona, Illinois, and Missouri
This event is coming to Chicago at Lincoln park on October 3, 2009. Feel free to register and join

PAVE’s Team for the run or sponsor a PAVE leader.
This run is to raise awareness of violence against women in the Congo and aims to bring" long overdue relief to the women and children of the Democratic Republic of the Congo". Run for Congo Women is a grassroots run, walk, bike, swim, or bake fundraiser for Women for Women International’s Congo Program.

An international contemporary art exhibition opened last month at the Stenersen Museum in Oslo, Norway featuring the Marina Abramovic, Louise Bourgeois, Yoko Ono, Susan Plum, and 28 other visionary artists, including Voices and Faces Project photographer Patricia Evans.
This UNESCO-endorsed exhibition is curated by Randy Rosenberg and our allies at Art Works for Change.

Marc Kaplan

Marc has been teaching Tai Chi in the DC Area for several years. He teaches a free class at a wellness center and accepts donations for a select number of nonprofits including PAVE in return for his teachings. Marc is an alternative sports enthusiast and experienced television producer and television production executive.  He is currently the Executive in Charge of Production for one of Fox’s longest running shows, "America’s Most Wanted." 
"Regular practice of my Tai Chi (Taiji) form and various Chi Kung (Qigong) exercises has helped a great deal to enhance my balance, coordination and endurance.  These are all important skills for the many sports that I participate in.  Most importantly my practice of Tai Chi Chuan has taught me how to effectively meditate, helping to relieve stress and adding to my inner peace."
