Happy Holidays!

It’s been a very exciting year here:

Just Tell Launched 18 Street Teams In 13 States in 2009!

Our teen volunteers are really impressive! Their enthusiasm, commitment and positive spirit have helped get the word out to thousands of kids. Come see where our teams are hard at work here

More teens are standing by – waiting for their packages of hand out materials so they can spread the word! Currently there are 9 new Street Teams ready to launch! Can you help us supply them with handout materials?

Each team is made up of 4 to 10 teen volunteers who learned about Just Tell through our website, from our MySpace page or through our Street Teams.

This year Just Tell also began sending our Street Teams to all-day concerts like the Bamboozle festival at Giant’s Stadium where Team Just Tell handed out over 38,000 pieces of Information! Next summer we hope to have a team join a nationwide concert tour for teens and travel across the United States!

With your help we could reach over half a million kids in 2010!

Thousands of Teens are getting the Just Tell message:
  • sexual abuse is not their fault
  • they need feel no shame or guilt for what happened
  • it is really important to choose an adult they trust and tell them about the abuse, so the adult can help get it stopped! JUST TELL…and if that adult doesn’t help… KEEP TELLING!

With footage shot by our incredible NYC team of teen volunteers, and produced with the donated services of a team of talented professionals, our new video does a great job of explaining the mission and work of Just Tell– in just four minutes! Please come watch the spirit of Just Tell brought to life. We promise you will be moved!

New Just Tell Video:

Just Tell Video
We can only do this work thanks to the help of our many volunteers and the generosity of our donors. Thank you !

Starting a new Street Team costs just $83!

Can you help Just Tell?

Could you make a donation to Just Tell during this season of giving? Our 9 new Street Teams are waiting for their Just Tell T-Shirts and Wallet Cards. And to reach 500,000 kids next summer we need $25,000 in funding! Every dollar we raise helps us reach kids dealing with the problem of sexual abuse.*

Let’s Stay in Touch!

Dear Jacki M SeiWell,

This has been a wild year!  For many of us it has been a time of endings, for others beginnings, and there are a few who have been stuck between the two!  Don’t worry, every challenges and opportunity has it’s season and 2010 is pregnant with possibilities.

Service is the Highest form of Loving

The Business of LIfe Thin Places

A recent survey said that the number one concern of individuals who responded was financial/business.
Economic uncertainty triggers stress, as it cuts to the essence of survival and safety.  Media frequently targets negative drama which adds fuel to the collective fire.  Thank goodness there is an antidote…read more

The Give Away

Native Americans have a tradition of the give away, sometimes called a potlatsch. There are many variations, but a give away occurs when someone has been acknowledged, or blessed in some way, and they give back of their blessings to those that come to honor them.
Imagine having a birthday party and giving away presents rather than receiving them. That sums up the traditional give away. As both receiver and giver, they are fun!
There is another kind of giveaway as well. As this year draws to a close, what do you need to "give away" so that you don’t take the old into the New Year? This could be in your business, life, relationships, etc.

Rituals help heal.  This holiday season is a perfect time to release that which no longer serves your life or business.  For every new beginning there is an ending. That is clear. Not so clear is the space or void between the two.  The past way of being, doing, or having no longer works well. That bridge between the two – the world between past and future, may be filled with uncertainty.
The give away allows you to focus on what my friend, Dr. K, calls doing "in the meantime." In the meantime helps us to settle into the void and clean up old business/attitudes/barriers/patterns of behavior that must be addressed if our transition to the new is to be successful. Sometimes the meantime is clearing clutter and completing unresolved project or issues.

This void is filled with possibilities for completion of that which binds.  Take the time now and follow your own inner guidance to let go of the old and make room for the new.  Breakthrough your barriers to change by loving yourself enough to sit in the void and enjoy your personal give away.
If you get stuck, you can always give me a call at 310-280-3966 or email lin@linmorel.com.

As a thank you to all my friends and clients who have helped me share the "thin places" with you over the last 29 years, I will be holding 2009 pricing for anyone that books a session by 12/31/09.  Call for a tune-up today, and start 2010 off clear and connected.

The Surviving Spirit Newsletter – Healing the Heart Through the Creative Arts –

Hi Folks,

Happy Holidays to everyone…winter is definitely here in my little neck of the woods – snow and darn cold!!! But lots of great information and resources to share that will help warm us all up.

I had several presentations recently in MA – one at the Univ. of MA in Lowell, one at Salem State College, and one at Holy Cross College in Worcester for the MA Assoc. of Psychiatric Rehabilitation…all went well and lots of great comments and responses from so many. Helps remind me of why I do, what I do.

The nonprofit endeavor of the Surviving Spirit is moving along quite nicely…hope to have a website up by April…and we are currently planning some events to be held in 2010…and looking into the retail gallery space we will need…so lots going on.

Please note our brand new logo design at the top of this e-mail…very excited about this on so many fronts. And please do read the attached words from Barbara Burke, the artist as to how and why she came up with this…this truly embodies what we are all about as a Surviving Spirit… I feel doubly blessed with this effort, for I know Barbara as a dear friend…we go back many years. You can also hear her musical talents as a keyboard player and singer – she is featured all over my first album “TRAIN of TEARS”…so do visit www.mskinnermusic.com to hear some of that music.

And here’s some more reasons to believe in Hope, Healing, & Help:

Recently I had the good fortune to hear these folks present…very impressed with their message and their delivery concerning the issues of trauma, abuse, & mental health –

Steve Harrington of Recover Resources combines advocacy & humor in his talks on healing; he’s got a great sense of humor.…a good guy doing some great things at www.recoverresources.com

Linda Andre, author of “Doctors of Deception: What They Don’t Want You to Know About Shock Treatment” has written a well researched book on this important topic and her presentations on this subject matter are clearly defined and informative. Learn more at www.doctorsofdeception.com

Sharon Wise – dancer, artist, advocate and so much more…whew!!! A true bundle of positive healing energy, Sharon has found creative ways to take her own pain and suffering to help so many others with her generous giving and sharing of talents. It is an honor to know her as a friend. www.2009youthonlyleadershipmarch.ning.com

Some folks addressing the concerns of trauma and abuse at their respective websites & blogs are also raising awareness and healing by talking about the things that society wants to ignore – kudos to them!!!

1] Michele Rosenthal, Founder – HEAL MY PTSD, LLC
www.healmyptsd.com A site for PTSD awareness, education, treatment & self-empowered healing.

2] Bryn Alyn Survivors in England – www.brynalyn.co.uk – a history of abuse in children’s homes and resources for survivors

3] Trauma Blogger – www.traumatised.org – “Not insane, nor to blame!” & “Psychiatrically injured, not inherently flawed” [and I agree!!!]

Claire has also produced a film "The Door to Adulthood – Support and its role in the origins and treatment of trauma".   www.youtube.com/watch?v=8jfEoGVpnTo

This film answers a general question the public raise a lot "why do some people get over tough childhoods and not others?".

4] Petra Luna’s updated site in raising awareness on the abuse of males –

Our BIG New Web site: http://help4guys.org/

The site also has video clip postings of celebrity males sharing of their own abuse, Carlos Santana, etc.

Here’s a very special gift from the heart from Leslye Borden & the good people of Handmade Especially for You in Rancho Palos Verdes, CA – They make and deliver comfort scarves to abused women in 12 different shelters…do visit their site and learn more. www.handmadeespecially.org

And for some upcoming events:

1] MaleSurvivor’s 2010 International Conference

Register online @ www.malesurvivor.org – committed to preventing, healing, and eliminating all forms of sexual victimization of boys and men through support, treatment, research, education, advocacy, and activism. February

2] Vital Cycles – engaging in the vital cycles of healing – www.vitalcycles.org

Winter Retreat – Healing Happens February 5-7, 2010, Matwah, New Jersey – online registration and information

All my best & take care, Mike

ps. Please share this with your friends & if you have received this in error, please let me know.

Prayers Needed
On Monday, my friend Cherry Simpson’s niece Lacey was murdered. Please join me in prayer (for those who do believe) to pray for her family and for Cherry. Even though I did not know Lacey personally, my heart has been filled with so much sorrow as another beautiful life was tragically cut short due to domestic violence. If you have a moment would you please read Cherry’s blog and post words of support. – Nasrin

Weekly Newsletter-December 5, 2009

This is a one hour show with Metaphysical Topics, Green Living Tips, special guests and live intuitive readings. I am a certified Reiki Master/Teacher, Zimbate Practitioner, Angel Healing Practitioner, Energy Healing Practitioner, Animal Therapist and Theta Healing Practitioner in Green Bay, Wisconsin. I have been practicing the healing arts for over five years. My background includes a Bachelors Degree in Music Education and Business.  My show can be heard live every Monday from 12-1pm CST and occassionally Wednesday’s from 5-6pm CST on BlogTalkRadio.

I’m experimenting with a new format for my newsletter, let me know what you think of the changes.  This week is a busy week for me.  I am flying to St. Louis for business and I’m finish up some of my classes at a local college.  I have such a great line up of guests for the radio show from now through February 2010.   This week I will not have a show on Monday, December 7th, but will have a show on Wednesday, December 9th from 5-6pm CST.  My special guest for this week is Psychic Medium and Achieve Radio Show Host Bobby Marchesso.  You can learn more about Bobby below.  Remember to always follow your heart, ask the angels to walk beside you and do at least one random act of kindness this week.

Many Blessings to you,

Special guest this week- Psychic Medium Bobby Marchesso

I wasn’t struck by lightning. I didn’t see dead people as a child, like Haley Joel Osment. I haven’t experienced any traumatic head injuries. I wasn’t raised by a pack of wolves. I just have a passion. And an ability to hear, see, and know things that others don’t.

Before I began to do this full-time, I had my own morning news show with a local NBC affiliate for six and a half years. Frustrations there increased as creative differences began piling up, and as I felt the need to do more than the ‘norm’ and discover what lies beyond the standard. I finally hit my breaking point and left the station to pursue my true passion full-time.
I have been working in this field for many years now, and I never cease to be amazed at all I’ve experienced. It’s been quite the ride, and I hope to continue my work for years to come. It is very rewarding; I love to know that I am able to offer comfort, healing, and spiritual growth through the information I deliver.

Bobby Marchesso is a psychic, medium, and intuitive counselor. A talented TV personality on NBC, Bobby gave up a promising career in television to pursue his passion: the spiritual world. Following his guidance, he moved to L. A. a few years ago. What happened next was no surprise to those who work with spirit. Bobby was recruited by a production company to co-star in a TV series targeted for BBC TV. "Conversations With A Serial Killer" debuted in the UK in the fall of 2009. It was, according to Bobby, "A tough assignment." Dealing with the negative aspects of the subject required him to pay "close attention to cleansing and protection before and after every shoot."

Though he currently resides in Southern California, Bobby travels frequently – contact him or visit his website to find out more about his upcoming tour dates. Bobby has years of experience connecting with loved ones who have crossed to the other side. He is devoted to helping others, especially as they move through the grieving process after losing a loved one. Bobby’s radio show "Spiritual Coffee" can be heard live every Monday on Achieve Radio.  He was most recently John Holland’s special guest on his his radio show "Spirit Connections" on Hay House Radio.

Dear jacki m,
Yellowstone National Park’s famous wolves are being viciously killed – and once all the adult wolves have been slaughtered, the surviving pups will likely die without the rest of their wolf family.
Restore protections for Yellowstone wolves »
These sad wolf deaths are the result of the federal government’s likely illegal decision to eliminate vital protections for our wolves in Greater Yellowstone and the northern Rockies. Unless we are successful in urging Interior Secretary Ken Salazar to reverse this bad decision, hundreds more wolves will be killed.

More than 160 formerly protected wolves have already been killed, including members of Yellowstone’s famed Cottonwood pack.
